Axiom is developed and published by Axiom. This policy explains what the Axiom Android app sends off your device, to whom, and when.
AI actions are optional. Without a provider key, Axiom blocks the action and sends nothing to OpenAI or Google Gemini. When you invoke an AI action, Axiom sends the selected provider a PNG crop of your current selection, the action instructions, and—except when creating a new memory—text you explicitly saved as that notebook's AI memory. A crop can contain selected handwriting, typed text, formulas, photos, scans, or diagrams. Unselected page and notebook content is not included. Validation or repair requests can include a previous model response, formula, generated or pasted code, and a local error message.
Requests go directly from the device to the selected provider over HTTPS. Axiom has no developer-operated AI proxy. Importing a file, linking a folder, or writing a note does not by itself send it to an AI provider.
You supply your own OpenAI or Gemini API key. It is stored in Axiom's private app storage, sent only to that provider for authentication, and excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer. Provider charges, quotas, account settings, terms, processing, and retention apply. Axiom does not use Gemini file storage, grounding, explicit context caching, or provider-stored conversations.
Provider practices can change. Review the current OpenAI API data controls, Gemini API terms, and Gemini retention information.
Notebooks are stored in private app storage. This includes handwriting, text, saved AI memory and results, embedded images and PDFs, drawings, code, collections, addons, folder organization, preferences, and a local daily count of provider-reported tokens. Axiom does not upload that usage meter.
Android backup is enabled. Except for provider keys, Android may copy app data, including notebooks, to your configured backup service for restore or device transfer. Backup location, retention, settings, and quota are controlled by Android, your account, device, and backup provider. Axiom does not operate a separate notebook-sync service.
Axiom uses Android's scoped photo, document, and folder pickers rather than broad storage access. A linked folder grants persistent read-only access; Axiom can read its display name and supported file metadata, previews, and contents. It releases the old grant when another folder is linked. Camera capture uses your chosen camera app, and document scanning is supplied by Google Play services. Google states that document-scanner image processing occurs on-device. The underlying ML Kit SDK nevertheless collects device and app information, performance metrics, and device or per-installation identifiers for diagnostics and usage analytics. Google states that this telemetry is encrypted in transit and is not transferred to third parties; see its ML Kit Android data disclosure. Imported content is not sent to an AI provider unless you later select it and invoke an AI action.
Axiom does not send its own analytics, advertising identifiers, or crash reports to its developer. Errors can be written to Android's on-device system log. As described above, Google ML Kit collects limited diagnostics and usage analytics. Android, other Google Play services, storage providers, and AI providers may collect their own operational or diagnostic data under their policies.
You can report offensive, unsafe, or deceptive AI output from inside Axiom, either from Privacy & support or from Send feedback. A report contains the reason and text you enter, optional contact information and an image or video you choose, app and device version, selected provider/model, and submission time. It is delivered the same way as feedback reports (below) and does not automatically attach notebook content or an API key.
Feedback is transmitted only after you tap Send. A report contains the category and text you enter, optional contact information and image or video attachment, app and device version, and submission time. It travels over HTTPS to the developer's Cloudflare Worker, which validates and rate-limits the request and forwards it through Resend to the developer's inbox. The Worker does not intentionally store report content. Cloudflare and Resend may process operational and delivery data under their respective policies. No API key or notebook content is included unless you explicitly put it in the form or chosen attachment. If automatic delivery fails, Share instead opens Android's share sheet and you choose the app and recipient.
You choose whether to save a provider key, invoke an AI action, link a folder, import content, send feedback or an AI-content report, or share a support report. You can remove provider keys in AI settings and delete notebooks or app data using Axiom and Android controls. Provider-side data requests are governed by the provider account and policy.
For privacy questions or requests, including deletion of a feedback or AI-content report you sent, contact Axiom at stylusappsupport@gmail.com.
